Services at the Minster
The Minster offers a wide range of Sunday and weekday services within the mainstream Anglican tradition, drawing on a strong musical and choral tradition to enhance the worship.
It also serves as the Civic Church for Doncaster and hosts many of the Civic Services for special occasions.
We continue in the tradition of centuries of worship on this site and we offer:
- The quiet said services using traditional language from the Book of Common Prayer which are held in the chancel, using the choir seating;
- Services using modern language from Common Worship with one of the Minster choirs providing full choral worship in the best liturgical tradition of the Church of England;
- Relaxed and less formal styles of worship for all ages;
- Evensong – Cathedral-style choral worship, its current form dates back to 1662. The Minster is one of only three churches in the Diocese, maintaining this tradition.
Important: Coronavirus Guidance at the Minster
In the light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice.
Worship and Prayers will be continued by the clergy on behalf of everyone and we shall be seeking ways of sharing this with the wider community.
