Good News and Thank You  – Target Achieved

Toilets for the Minster     Pounds raised to Spend a Penny

The past year has been a very difficult and challenging one for everyone, but despite that, we are delighted to say that we have reached our funding target for the new toilets and refreshment facilities. We already have the necessary permissions in place, and we can now push ahead with starting the building of these new toilets and refreshment facilities  in the next two months, to make the Minster fit for the 21st Century.

We were delighted to have been granted permission to install these facilities, but notification came just as we entered lockdown for the Covid emergency and we were concerned that would have a big impact on our ability to raise the funds necessary.

However, we are absolutely delighted and grateful that so many people have had faith in our project.

Our backers include many people who donated what they could afford, both small and large amounts, to our crowd funding appeal.

In addition to this we have received support from a range of funding organisations that have allocated grants ranging from £50,000 to £2,500. These include:

The All Churches Trust

Beatrice Laing Foundation

Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council

The Earl Fitzwilliam Trust

The Friends of Doncaster Minster

Garfield Weston Foundation

National Churches Trust

South Yorkshire Community Foundation

The Liz and Terry Bramall Foundation

and others who wish to remain anonymous

Please accept our grateful thanks for every donation that made this project possible.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Minster and to many community events and services when the facilities will be a very welcome addition to the Minster
