We know it’s not even Christmas 2018 yet…. but we’re taking reservations for the Doncaster Minster Summer Dinner 2019. Places go very quickly and we’re trying to be as fair as possible in opening it out to people that would like to join us!
What is it?
It is a 3 course, silver service meal served right underneath the tower in the Minster, with tea or coffee and chocolates served afterwards. There is a choice of menu for each course – which you will receive details of well in advance and special dietary requirements of all kinds can be accommodated by speaking to us. The meal will be catered by Sandra Bishop Catering and the service you will receive is excellent.
What time does it start?
- The event starts at 6pm and there will be a bar serving soft drinks, a choice of wines and Prosecco. The bar remains open throughout the meal.
- Guests are seated at 7pm
- The Guest Speaker is the author and lecturer Catherine Fox, author of the Lindchester Chronicles, which lifts the lid on the inner workings of the Church of England!
- You can expect to leave the Minster by about 9.45pm
Why do we do this?
We do this to raise funds towards the restoration of the Minster. The profit from the evening goes towards the restoration fund to secure the future of this beautiful and very special, historic place. We also LOVE an excuse to get together for some great food in good company in a beautiful setting – we like being hospitable!
How much does a place cost?
The cost is £38.50 per person for the 3 course meal including chocolates and tea/coffee. The bar is a cash bar.
What is the dress code?
It is very much up to you. This is not a black tie event, but most people dress smartly – however that looks for you!
Who is the event aimed at?
You don’t have to be already connected to Doncaster Minster to attend and everyone is made very welcome.
